Description Overview: Join Chubb's Commercial Insurance
Actuarial team as an Assistant Vice President & Actuary, focused on
Portfolio Management and Process Modernization. This role spans the
total Commercial Insurance portfolio and represents a unique
opportunity to drive transformation through technology-enabled
solutions, developing tools and processes that deliver timely
insights to support strategic decision-making. The role is based in
either Whitehouse Station (NJ), Jersey City (NJ), or Philadelphia
(PA) offices and reports to the VP & Actuary Modernization lead for
CI Actuarial. Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead the revamp of
on-level and price monitoring capabilities, building and
maintaining a facility that provides regular, timely, and accurate
on-level and exposure-trended premium across various risk cohorts.
• Enhance price monitoring frameworks by integrating granular rate
adequacy concepts into existing workflows, enabling more
sophisticated analysis of pricing adequacy at detailed risk segment
levels. • Develop and maintain robust, well-documented tools,
reports, and dashboards to support portfolio management activities
across Commercial Insurance, enabling key stakeholders to monitor
performance and make data-driven decisions. • Mature the portfolio
management support function by creating detailed scenario testing
capabilities and analytical tools that enable portfolio managers to
evaluate strategic decisions and optimize portfolio performance. •
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements by
streamlining data collection, analysis, and presentation processes
to ensure accuracy and timeliness. • Support and enhance key
actuarial work products including profitability analysis and
planning processes through automation, standardization, and
modernization of analytical workflows. • Collaborate closely with
line actuarial leaders, portfolio managers, and cross-functional
teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and deliver
timely, actionable insights that support strategic initiatives. •
Partner with Technology, Underwriting, and Data Analytics teams to
design, implement, and maintain scalable solutions that improve
efficiency and effectiveness of recurring and ad-hoc analyses. •
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying pain points
in existing processes, proposing innovative solutions, and
implementing best practices from digital transformation efforts. •
Proactively engage with portfolio managers across multiple lines of
business to understand their analytical needs, translate
requirements into technical solutions, and communicate findings
through clear, concise presentations. • Act as a subject matter
expert in process modernization, sharing knowledge and best
practices across the actuarial team and promoting a culture of
innovation. • Support ad-hoc actuarial initiatives and special
projects as needed, bringing a process-oriented mindset to ensure
efficient execution and sustainable solutions. Qualifications •
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Actuarial Science,
Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related
quantitative field. • 8 years of actuarial or analytical experience
in insurance, with a focus on process improvement, automation, or
analytics. Experience across multiple lines of business is
beneficial but not required. • ACAS or FCAS certification
preferred, or equivalent industry qualifications. Alternative
relevant credentials will be considered. • Strong proficiency in
programming languages such as VBA, R, Python, and SQL is required.
Demonstrated experience building analytical tools, automating
workflows, and working with large datasets. • Prior experience with
price monitoring, profitability analysis, and planning processes is
a plus. • Experience with transformation initiatives, process
improvement methodologies, and leveraging AI/machine learning
solutions is highly desirable. • Excellent analytical and
problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business
requirements into technical solutions. • Strong organizational and
documentation skills, with attention to detail and commitment to
building maintainable, scalable solutions. • Ability to manage
multiple competing priorities and deliverables effectively in a
fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Exceptional collaboration
skills, with the ability to work effectively across
multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders at all levels. •
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability
to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and
non-technical audiences. • Self-motivated individual contributor
with strong initiative and ability to work independently while
maintaining alignment with team objectives. • Growth mindset with
enthusiasm for learning new technologies, embracing change, and
driving innovation. The pay range for the role is $146,000 to
$200,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills
and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in
a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a
