Job Description:
Lead Knowledge Analyst - Media (The Boston Consulting Group,
Inc. - New York, New York): Perform in-depth research of client companies
within the Media sector and analyze industry-specific problems that will be
used to drive insight into specific client issues and to develop
feasible recommendations and business solutions that increase our media
client's operational efficiency. Specific duties include: perform
quantitative and analytical tasks including industry benchmarking, primary market
sizing, competitive analysis, and economic policy evaluation in order to
develop specialized topic knowledge and enhance intellectual capital;
support BCG Consultants with industry-specific data related to the Media
sector; maintain proprietary Media-specific tools and author training
materials in various topic areas; work with the Media consulting team to
prepare oral and written presentations for clients on research conclusions
and strategy suggestions at the conclusion of a consulting engagement;
participate in consulting team meetings, interact with clients, and research
and analyze current economic issues within the Media practice area; take a
lead role in supporting proposal and lead preparation for prospective Media
clients as well as developing specialized topic knowledge in order to
enhance the team's intellectual capital development; develop content for
go-to-market materials; assist the Media Leadership Team in shaping and
delivering its topic strategy, drive the commercial agenda, and train BCG case
team staff through presentations on media industry to help them further
develop their skills related to the Media practice area. Requires a Bachelor's
degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field
(willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of
experience performing market/industry research and analytical support
within the media sector. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in
Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field (willing to
accept foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience
performing market/industry research and analytical support within the media
sector. Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative experience
requirements not applicable to this section) - must possess the following:
(i) working in a matrix organization; (ii) analyzing large, unstructured
data sets to identify key industry trends; (iii) determining the market size
and margins of key media sectors such as Digital, Films, Publishing and TV;
(iv) preparing media industry revenue and cost forecasts; (v)
evaluating correlation between economic cycles and media revenues; (vi)
developing key industry benchmarks across various media sectors; (vii)
performing competitive assessment analysis within the media sector; and
(viii) preparing business overviews/SWOT analysis for leading media
industry players. Must have unrestricted authorization to work in U.S.
