Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Technologist or Technician Specialty: Sterile Processing Duration: 8 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 7.5 Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required License: CRCST required Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: - Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds - Manual dexterity, ability to stand, bend, lift, and/or reach for extended periods - Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing - Ability to follow oral and written instructions Description: Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, reassembles, and packages various surgical instruments. Familiar with various surgical specialties including ortho, robotic, ENT, urology, bariatric, GYN, I.R., neuro, ophthalmology, plastics, thoracic, vascular, and pain management. Utilizes tracking systems, washers, and steam sterilizers. Processes 20-25 trays per shift in decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and as an OR liaison. Knowledge of specific instruments, such as Crile, Kells, and Adson Brown forceps, is beneficial. Scrubs are provided, and shoes must be work-specific and without holes. Jewelry, hair, and beard must be covered while working. Public transportation is not easily available.
