11219 We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to
join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial
role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring a comfortable
experience for our patients while promoting oral health. As a
Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing dental
cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and
assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care. Key
Responsibilities Assist with oral health management of all patients
Verify the identity of patients before administering treatment
Obtain oral health assessment of each patient (new-baseline,
follow-up) Review medical history and other pertinent oral health
information Provide oral hygiene services including dental
prophylaxis scaling, sealant application, and fluoride application
consistent with accepted best practices and standards Provide
dental assistance as directed by the dentist Provide oral health
education and individual counseling to each patient according to
known oral health care practices (e.g. tooth brushing, flossing)
Document provided dental services on the patient’s chart
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Completion
of an approved dental hygiene education program. Valid license to
practice as a Dental Hygienist in New York State. Good clinical
skills: e.g., providing prophylaxis/cleaning, removing
plaque/tartar, polishing, patient education, charting, and x-rays.
Good interpersonal/communication skills: ability to work with
patients, educate them, maintain records, schedule, and collaborate
with dentist. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
and experience with calendar management and office software (e.g.,
Outlook, Google Suite). Maximum attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive
information. Ability to collaborate effectively with a
multidisciplinary team. Positive, flexible disposition.
