Job Description Job Description Job Title: Nurse Practitioner – Internal Medicine (Spanish-Speaking Preferred) Job Type: Full-Time & Part -Time Position Overview The Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary care to adult patients, focusing on prevention, chronic disease management, and comprehensive wellness. The ideal candidate will be fluent or proficient in Spanish to help serve our large Spanish-speaking patient base and will work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to ensure seamless, culturally competent care. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical exams, assessments, and diagnostic evaluations for adult patients. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, COPD, heart disease, and arthritis. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results. Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Provide health education, lifestyle counseling, and preventive care recommendations. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure culturally sensitive communication, particularly with Spanish-speaking patients and families. Participate in team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education. Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New York State. National certification as an NP (FNP, AGNP, or equivalent). At least 2 years of clinical experience in internal medicine or adult primary care preferred. Fluency or professional proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred. BLS certification required; ACLS preferred. Excellent communication, diagnostic, and time management skills. Commitment to health equity and working in a diverse, underserved community.
